The Dietrich School’s very own Dean Adam Leibovich was spotted donating blood at an American Red Cross Blood Drive, which was in partnership with HBO Max’s TV show The Pitt.
The Department of Geology and Environmental Science, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, hosted an impactful volunteer day at the Frick Environmental Center in Frick Park. Participants worked alongside Parks Conservancy staff to manage invasive plants and maintain ecological restoration sites, which directly contribute to the care and stewardship of Pittsburgh’s treasured park system.

Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Chemistry, Haitao Liu, along with several other Pitt faculty members, are hosting a panel discussion and networking event. The event, titled Finding the 'I' in Influence: Stories of the Leadership Journey Told by Asian, Immigrant, and First-Generation Academics," will be held on Monday, October 6, from 4-5:30 pm in the Cathedral of Learning Room 2017.

A series of serendipitous events led Larry Cervi (EDUC '58) to found the University of Pittsburgh’s Golden Girls in 1975.
“As a child, I broke my wrists in a fall. For therapy, I had to twist sticks, which eventually morphed into batons—which I eventually learned to twirl,” said Cervi in a 2022 interview with Pitt Magazine.
