Wolfgang “Jim” Choyke, a Research Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, has worked for the University of Pittsburgh since the 70s and still goes to work every week, where he continues his research on silicon carbide (SiC).
The Strawberry Way Project will be inaugurated on Tuesday, October 20, with remarks from Mayor Corey O'Connor, Hemispheric Conversations: Urban Art Project (pronounced hiccup), and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP).

Pitt Stages' first performance of the year, a one-act series, is happening this weekend! The series includes two shows: Waiting, directed by Lila Kelly (A&S '27), and The Proposal, directed by Ryder Smith (A&S '27). The series runs from October 2 through the 4 at the Henry Heymann Theatre, and admission is free.

Tonight, Monday, April 27, at 5 pm, the Dietrich School’s Writing Program celebrates the launch of their new publication, 3 Sisters Issue 1 (Spring 2026), at White Whale Books. Nearly all the contributors will read from their work both in person and over Zoom. Pizza and dessert are to be provided.
