University of Pittsburgh faculty members Peter Wipf and Joel Greenberger have been elected Fellows of the National Academy of Inventors.

Wipf, a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Dietrich School, is one of Pitt’s most prolific and collaborative inventors. His 77 patents, and counting, are far and away the most of any active Pitt faculty member.

Edouard Machery Talks to the Washington Post About AI Poetry

Edouard Machery, a distinguished professor and Director of the Center for Philosophy of Science, was interviewed by the Washington Post about a study on AI-generated poetry and how it stumped readers. The study found that the AI-generated poetry was not only favored more by the readers but that it was also more likely to predict that it was written by humans.
