Kids of GES Faculty had a blast learning about erosion

The Dietrich School Department of Geology and Environmental Science along with the Pittsburgh Water Collaboratory, seems to have inspired future geologists and environmentalists!

The departments hosted a "Bring Your Child to School Day" this past week.

The event allowed children of faculty and staff to learn about things like erosion by experiencing an interactive water table activity. The water table has a landscape created from plastic particles and a working stream of water to show how water shapes the land around it. Kids could build landscapes and experiment with dams, water pressure, and wildlife.

There was also a fishing station, a color your own Axolotl station, and a temporary tattoo station.
