The Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences takes great pride in honoring Mark J. Pastin, PhD, with the school's 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award.
This honor deservedly recognizes Pastin's remarkable professional achievements as an award-winning ethics thought leader, consultant, advisor, and speaker. Throughout his academic tenure, he served as a faculty member and administrator at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, the University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland.
At Arizona State University, Pastin served as Professor of Management and Director of the Lincoln Center. He has also made a mark outside of academia. He is the founder and president of the Council of Ethical Organizations and has authored over one hundred publications, including two books on gaining ethical insights and acting upon those thoughts. Pastin has advised major corporations and governments for fifty years. State and federal agencies, as have the United States Senate and House of Representatives, have sought his counsel.
