Leo Wegemer (A&S ’73) Named 2021 Recipient of Dietrich School Distinguished Alumni Award

Leo Wegemer (A&S ’73) has been named the 2021 recipient of the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award.

This award deservedly recognizes Leo’s remarkable professional achievements, generous service and support to the University of Pittsburgh, and contributions of service and support to his community.

Throughout his career, Leo provided valuable organizational direction and legal guidance to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and to the United States Air Force. Leo’s excellence in law did not go unnoticed and the Association of Corporate Counsel presented him with the Outstanding General Counsel of a Large Law Department Award.

Leo gives his time, talents, and treasure to the University of Pittsburgh and his community. In addition to his generous philanthropic support, the Dietrich School is especially grateful for Leo’s participation on the Dietrich School’s Board of Visitors and for his leadership as co-chair of The Big DIG, a fundraising initiative that will transform the lives of students and further leading-edge research and academic advancement in the Dietrich School.

For these reasons and more, we honor Leo Wegemer with this alumni award.
