Jennifer L. Bertetto Recognized with 2022 Dietrich School Distinguished Professional Achievement Award

In recognition of her remarkable professional achievements, we are pleased to award Jennifer L. Bertetto (A&S ’97) with a 2022 Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professional Achievement Award.

From sales to CEO, Jennifer’s career in the news industry has been impressive. Jennifer is an advocate for the industry as a whole, and for smaller local news outlets. Jennifer has testified before the U.S. Senate and has served on a number of local, national, and international boards. She has the reputation of being an innovator in the industry.

Her efforts have been recognized by others—she received the 2021 Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence from the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association for her outstanding service that reflects positively on the Pennsylvania news industry. And most recently she was named 2022 Publisher of the Year by Editor & Publisher, the leading trade publication for the newspaper industry.

Finally, Jennifer serves the University of Pittsburgh through her service on the board of the Pitt News, for which she is currently the Chair. Jennifer is also a Board of Visitors member for the Dietrich School.

For these reasons and more, we are pleased to present Jennifer L. Bertetto with this award.
