Jonathan Fuller was named a 2029 Greenwall Faculty Scholar

The Greenwall Foundation has named Jonathan Fuller, associate professor in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences’ Department of History and Philosophy of Science, one of its 2029 Greenwall Faculty Scholars for his work to improve diagnoses for diseases like Alzheimer’s.

His project, Bioethics of Diagnostic Error and Diagnostic Excellence, uses a novel philosophical theory about the aims of diagnosis to develop concepts of diagnostic error and excellence, as well as standards for achieving excellence, and measures of overdiagnosis.

Fuller will use these concepts, standards and measures to make bioethical recommendations for diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease based on the presence of biomarkers.
