Professors Kay Brummond and Peter Wipf have been elected to the 2010 class of Fellows of the American Chemical Society

Professors Kay Brummond and Peter Wipf have been elected to the 2010 class of Fellows of the American Chemical Society, thus bringing the number of ACS Fellows in the Department to four (Profs. Curran and Jordan were part of the inaugural class of Fellows in 2009). Unlike ACS national awards, the honor of designation as Fellow is conferred to those who have distinguished themselves in multiple areas, including the promotion of science, the profession, and service to the American Chemical Society. Professors Brummond and Wipf will be honored, along with other 2010 ACS Fellows, at a special ceremony during the ACS National Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday, August 23, 2010.  The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel from 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
