Occupation: Gustavsen is a full-time student majoring in German and history at the University of Pittsburgh. She is entering her senior year and has been accepted into the School of Education's graduate program. She hopes to teach German.

Education: 2007 graduate of North Allegheny High School

Noteworthy: Gustavsen was awarded a $4,000 German Room Committee Scholarship from the University of Pittsburgh's Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Program. She is in Germany studying German language, literature, media and history at the University of Augsburg.

Quote: "It felt fantastic to receive the scholarship from the Nationality Room Committee. It has helped me reach a lot of my goals while abroad, such as seeing a lot of the German country, as well as participating in a German university. I have learned a lot during these past two months abroad and hope to pass all of this knowledge and excitement on to future students when I become a teacher."
