Peer Tutoring
As a University of Pittsburgh student, you are entitled to free walk-in and individual tutoring in over 40 courses offered at our personalized, student-friendly center. Stop by to work with one of our Master Tutors and you will find quiet study areas for individualized instruction and group study areas where active learning is inevitable.
Many students just like you meet with Master Tutors to brush up on study skills, check their understanding of a topic, review assignments, or prepare for a test. In between classes you may run into friends as you stop by to read, do research on the Internet, or tackle your homework with the expertise of a Master Tutor just an arm’s length away.
If you find yourself in need of our services, just give us a call. We welcome all students –you don’t have to be failing a subject to visit us. Our Master Tutors are college students, like yourself, who can relate to your situation. If you have an academic question or problem and are not sure where to go, give us a try. The entire staff is always ready and willing to help!
Tutoring is available through the Academic Resource Center (ARC) on practically every Arts and Sciences subject area. ARC tutoring addresses many learning styles —you may want to learn in a group, or you may decide that working things out one-on-one is better for you. And you may not need an appointment—ARC offers walk-in tutorial service (PDF) for select subjects during both day and evening hours. Peer tutors receive specialized training and have talent both in their majors and in customer service.
