Pitt EXCEL Program's Summer Research Internship (SRI)
Engineering majors from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year at the University of Pittsburgh are eligible to participate in a nine-week Summer Research Internship (SRI). Students are assigned to faculty mentors who lead multi-disciplinary student teams in advanced research.
Each student meets regularly with a faculty mentor to review daily journals, discuss progress, and collaboratively discover innovative solutions to any problems that may arise during their research experience. At the end of the program all students present their research findings to faculty members, staff, and current students. Participants will receive a stipend for the program.
This year's program will run from May 30 until July 27, 2007. Applications will be available in the Pitt EXCEL Program office on January 8, 2007, and completed applications will be accepted through Friday, March 16, 2007. For more information, please visit the Pitt EXCEL Program in B-73A Benedum Hall, or call 412-624-9425.
