College and University Public Relations Association of Pennsylvania (minority college internship award)
Dow Jones has two internship programs:
- The Business Reporting Program is specifically designed for minority sophomores and juniors. These students cover business and consumer news at daily newspapers and financial news wires.
- Juniors, seniors, and graduate students may work as copy editors, online editors, and real-time financial news wires reporters and editors in the Newspaper Editing, Online Editing or Real-Time Financial News wires programs.
English Department Writing Internship Information (School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh)
KNSD Internship Audio, Radio & Television Services is currently seeking applicants for their internship program. This program offer three internships each semester. The intern's primary responsibility will be with the Images production team. Images is a monthly news and public affairs program produced by College of DuPage.
Mattress Factory, a contemporary art museum and residency program on Pittsburgh's North Side is seeking an education department intern for the fall term, and curatorial and development interns for the spring term. Tor Books Spending a semester in New York City? Tor Books, the leading publisher of science fiction, is looking for interns during the school year. Tasks include filing, making photocopies, reading a lot of unsolicited, unagented manuscripts, and writing reader reports on manuscripts that editors give you. You will get lots of free books and gain invaluable experience if you are interested in being a writer, editor or publisher. Tor will then send you a book and will ask you to write a reader report on the book, along with the specs as to what a reader report should look like.
Writing Center (Department of English, School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh): Students interested completing an English Composition internship must must take the Tutoring for Peer Writers course (ENGCMP 1210) in the fall and complete an internship in the spring.
