Transfer Student Programs
Transfer Student Focus
Transfer Student Focus, a one-credit course, is unique and fun introduction to critical services that you need to know about, like the library system, career services, undergraduate research, internships, and the computer labs. It also includes visits to professional schools such as the School of Medicine. The course, which meets one hour a week, will help you make the most of your education by showing you the opportunities Pitt has to offer as you prepare yourself for life beyond college.
Transfer Meet-And-Greet
Just before the start of the fall and spring terms, the transfer student program coordinator arranges a “meet-and-greet,” held in the Academic Resource Center (ARC). Invite your family to this upbeat reception, or come on your own for light refreshments and an introduction to the services of the Academic Resource Center, Pitt’s one-stop shop for Arts and Sciences transfer student services. The transfer student coordinator and other ARC staff will answer any questions or concerns you have, show you the computer lounge, and discuss workshop options and other services of the Academic Resource Center.
One-on-one advising
In addition to talking with your Arts and Sciences academic advisor, you are welcome to one-on-one appointments that are customized to address the needs and questions unique to the transfer student experience. Schedule an appointment with the Transfer Student Coordinator by calling 412-648-7920 any time between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
