Graduation
The University of Pittsburgh holds a campus-wide commencement ceremony each spring for all graduates who completed their degree during the preceding academic year. Separate ceremonies are held in December by the School of Arts and Sciences for those students who complete their degrees in December, and departments also host graduation events. Your department secretary or academic advisor can tell you more.
Starting Your Career
Are you nearing graduation, but dreading the job search process? Don't panic! The University provides comprehensive help in preparing for job fairs, meeting with interviewers and recruiters, and networking with alumni through the Career Services office in the William Pitt Union.
First Experiences in Teaching
First Experiences in Teaching provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to learn about teaching through faculty mentorship. By learning how to teach, you'll reinforce your own learning, achieve a greater understanding of the topic at hand, and learn directly from experts in particular fields.
Internships
Arts and Sciences faculty members provide opportunities for undergraduates to learn outside a classroom setting by taking part in academic internships. Academic internships offer students the opportunity to gain practical experience and to reflect on academic subjects in settings beyond the classroom.
