The Next Step: Your PittStart Session
During your scheduled PittStart session, you will meet with your academic advisor in the Arts and Sciences Advising Center, 201 Thackeray Hall. This one-on-one appointment with your advisor will last about an hour and 15 minutes. At that time you will:
- Discuss your interests
- Discuss possible majors and pre-professional programs (e.g. medicine, dental, and education)
- Review the General Education Requirements
- Register for fall courses
- Have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have as you prepare for your first semester at the University of Pittsburgh
Note: If you anticipate transferring in any AP credits, or college credits from another university, you will need to discuss this with your advisor at the PittStart session. See the Advanced Placement Credit and Courses (PDF) sheet.
