Three Minute Thesis Competition Invites Participants

The Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences Graduate Studies Dean's Office presents a Three Minute Thesis Competition on February 25, 2015, 12-2 p.m. in the William Pitt Union, Lower Lounge.

Participating Dietrich School PhD students will have three minutes to present a compelling oration on the dissertation and its significance. Participants must be admitted to candidacy.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in each division (Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences)

The 3MT gives students valuable practice in explaining their research to a non-specialist audience. Competitors will be judged on: Comprehension, Engagement, and Communication.

To register for the competition, send your name, email address, and presentation title to Lisa Korade, lmk88@pitt.edu by February 4, 2015. Audience members are encouraged to RSVP, but not required.
