Jean Marie Laskas Among National Magazine Award Finalists

Jean Marie Laskas, associate professor in the Department of English, is among the 43rd annual National Magazine Award finalists announced by the American Society of Magazine Editors—the magazine industry's highest honor.
Her article, "Underworld," appeared in the May 2008 issue of GQ and was nominated in the Best Feature Article category, which honors the stylishness and originality with which the author treats her subject. Also nominated in this category is Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Buzz Bissinger.
Winners will be announced at a gala event on May 1, at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center, Frederick P. Rose Hall.
