Dietrich School Associate Dean Blee Receives 2016 McCarthy Lifetime Achievement Award

Kathleen Blee, Dietrich School Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and Distinguished Professor of Sociology, is the recipient of The Center for the Study of Social Movements at the University of Notre Dame's 2016 McCarthy Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Scholarship of Social Movements and Collective Behavior. The award ceremony will be held on May 7 on the Notre Dame campus.
Dietrich School Graduate Students Invited to Submit Abstracts for Grad Expo

From January 11 to February 1, abstracts will be accepted for the 16th annual Dietrich School Grad Expo, a showcase of graduate student research happening within the Dietrich School. During the day-long event, scheduled for March 24 at the William Pitt Student Union, students will present papers and posters to be judged by a panel of faculty and graduate students.

Lawrence J. Simpson (A&S ’74G, ’78G) was honored at the 45th annual Jazz Seminar with a Kenneth P. Dietrich Distinguished Professional Achievement Award. Simpson is Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Dietrich School Faculty Invited to Shire Kick Off Event, November 18
The University of Pittsburgh has entered into a new translational research collaboration with Shire Pharmaceuticals to co-develop new therapies for orphan and rare diseases. Dietrich School Political Science Professor Named Editor of Latin American Research Review

Aníbal Pérez-Liñán, a professor in the Dietrich School's Department of Political Science, has been named editor-in-chief of Latin American Research Review, an interdisciplinary journal that publishes original research and surveys of current research on Latin America and the Caribbean. His position is effective January 1, 2016.
