Dietrich School Mathematics Professor Named Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellow by Department of Defense

Brent Doiron, an associate professor in the Dietrich School Department of Mathematics, has been named a 2017 Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellow by the US Department of Defense. The fellowship program "provides research awards to top-tier researchers from U.S. universities to conduct revolutionary 'high risk, high pay-off' research of strategic importance to the Department of Defense."
Dietrich School Biological Sciences Professor to Direct New Center

Through a comprehensive understanding of how to fix protein architecture when it goes awry, Pitt researchers will be positioned to improve prognoses for millions of people with debilitating diseases. The Center for Protein Conformational Diseases, set to launch in April under the direction of Jeffrey Brodsky, is one of only two such centers in the U.S.

Liminal Conjunction is a new series of works by Visiting Assistant Professor Sophia Sobers and Dirty Work is a collaborative installation by artists Eleanor Aldrich (Tennessee) and Senior Lecturer Barbara Weissberger.
