Dietrich School Kicks Off New Initiative with September 15 Panel Discussion on Election Year Rhetoric

“Election Year Rhetoric: Vitriol, Violence, and Voter Anxiety”

Part of the Dietrich School’s Open Door Project “Third Thursday” Series
September 15, 2016
3-5 p.m.
Humanities Center, 602 Cathedral of Learning

Tired of the trash talking?  Agitated by the acrimony?  Jaded by the jingoism?

Join a multidisciplinary panel of Dietrich School experts and our special guest, Pittsburgh City Councilman Dan Gilman to explore the rhetoric we’ve witnessed during this election cycle, how individuals use coded language, fear tactics, inspiring or negative messaging, and the impact all of this has on the voting public.

It’s going to be YUGE!
