Dietrich School Faculty Recognized for Teaching Excellence
On April 4, Dietrich School faculty members Lillian T. Chong, Gianni Downs, and Alison Slinskey Legg were recognized as winners of the 2017 Tina and David Bellet Teaching Excellence Awards. The awards, established in 1998 and endowed in 2008 with a $1.5 million gift from Dietrich School alumnus David Bellet and his wife, Tina, acknowledge, reward, and encourage outstanding undergraduate teachers.
Dietrich School Mathematics Professor Named Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellow by Department of Defense

Brent Doiron, an associate professor in the Dietrich School Department of Mathematics, has been named a 2017 Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellow by the US Department of Defense. The fellowship program "provides research awards to top-tier researchers from U.S. universities to conduct revolutionary 'high risk, high pay-off' research of strategic importance to the Department of Defense."

The Center for Protein Conformational Diseases, set to launch in April under the direction of Jeffrey Brodsky, is one of only two such centers in the U.S.
