Communication student Jessica Ghilani wins fellowship from the American Association of University Women

Jessica Ghilani, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication, has won a full-year fellowship (2009-2010) from the American Association of University Women, to complete her dissertation, "Selling Soldiering to Consumers: Advertising, Media, and The All-Volunteer Army" (advisor: Professor Ronald J. Zboray).

She was among only 64 fellows selected from 1,175 applicants, and the only recipient in Pennsylvania.  She has been a Women's Studies Teaching Fellow, and is currently completing a Smithsonian Institution Predoctoral Fellowship at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.
